The specialisation involves analysis of numerous case studies, workshops, intense presentations, brand and marketing fests and games to integrate theory with concept applicability. Experts from the industry are invited to take specific areas and enable students to meet future challenges effectively.
It has been DSC’s constant endeavor to upgrade the 2 year course and meet the latest industry requirements effectively. In lieu of this, a new dimension namely, Entertainment Marketing has been added to the specialisation. While students maybe familiar with creative dimensions such as direction, editing and screenplay; the same cannot be said of the management and marketing of film and television programmes. The Entertainment marketing specialisation aims to fulfill this need gap to help systematize and professionalize this rapidly growing industry. The Entertainment Marketing module focuses on what the business of film, television & radio encompasses.
Theory without practice is ineffective. The DSC programme ensures that each semester ends with work experience through intense internships. At DSC a new concept of half day work along with classes has been integrated since inception making the theory practice interface stronger & relevant.
This work experience adds value in various ways. A working knowledge of the industry at the outset. But also soft skills, professionalism, self confidence, networking are some of the other take-away.
Upon completion of the specialisation, students may obtain placements with leading Advertising agencies, entertainment houses and film production units across various departments. Be it Client Servicing, Copy-writing, Media Planning and Buying, Account Planning or even Digital in Advertising. Or be it Programming, Ad Sales, Digital or even making films and documentaries.
The Advertising and Entertainment Marketing specialisation aims to introduce new career options to students. While most obtain employment in the world’s leading agencies such as JWT, McCann Erikson, Publicis, Group M, Havas Media, many of them have also started their consultancies and design units.
