Stithi Prajna Sahoo, Intern, Edelman

1. What is your ‘success’ moment @work/internship?

My success moment at work is that I don’t need any extra understanding from my mentors to work. My presentation skills and my knowledge is enough to do what is asked of me.

2. What are 3 learnings you carried forward from DSC?

Team work is number one. You never know if the team you are going to work is of your liking. So, DSC has moulded us in such a way that you can work with anyone. Second would be time management – in industry you are obliged to maintain the timeline. You have to meet your deadlines and therefore it has helped me a lot. Third would be my confidence – DSC will put you in so many situations that you will grow confidence automatically. If you are an introvert it’s the very right place to be. I can bet on that!

3. How did DSC prepare you for internship – professionally and personally?

DSC is a mix of professionalism of course and a ‘fun’ institute. You will learn how to be professional and respectable no doubt. You will also learn how to build your inner persona. In DSC I have learnt that you have to face the stage and that has helped me a lot. I have grown my confidence I have also evolved my personality. I know where to speak right and how to present myself. Personally now I feel that I am not less than anyone. I have that capacity in me to do anything.

4. What difference do you see between you and other interns from other colleges (also employees)?

The difference what I can see is – the appearance. We dress formally, whatever the event and other interns wear casuals. Secondly we make better ppts. That’s a must. Thirdly we know how that we have to be there on time; so if it’s 10.00 am we are there by 10.00 am.

5. What did you feel when you entered DSC and now?

When I entered DSC I faced the worst competition because I thought I knew nothing compared to others – I was having so much of an inferiority complex! But with the passing of time I can say that I don’t feel that complex issues anymore and for the competition part Bring it On.

6. Where do you see yourself 20 years from now?

I am a person who believes in living in the moment. I know what I will be tommorow or day after tomorrow or the next week. Even if I have to think 20 years after, I would see myself carrying an expensive bag, sipping coffee in an amazing coffee Shop, and obviously thinking how I would build my empire and what clouds I can cross!!

4. What difference do you see between you and other interns from other colleges (also employees)?
Promptness is one difference I see very clearly.

5. What did you feel when you entered DSC and now?
When I entered DSC I was not sure about myself and where this course will lead me to. But, now I feel more confident and I feel I have all the tools to successfully complete any task that comes my way!

6. Where do you see yourself 20 years from now?
I see myself being at a senior level of an agency leading a team and successfully launching campaigns for various clients while enjoying what I do.

Sharguni Harish, Intern, Zenith Publicis Groupe

1. What is your ‘success’ moment @work/internship?
So I was asked to take out a run from YUMI BARC and I considered the wrong TG and sent it to my mentor. Then I realized my mistake, rectified and I mailed a new run to my mentor. The next day, she told me that she was proud of me for acknowledging my mistake! So, I think acknowledging our mistake is also as important as keeping to the deadline on time. And for me, that was a success.

2. What are 3 learnings you carried forward from DSC?
– Time management/ deadline management
– Utilising the creativing in the right way at the right manner
– Presentation skills and research skills

3. How did DSC prepare you for internship – professionally and personally?
Professionally and personally DSC has helped me a lot. The biggest learning is how to have to balanced professional and personal life.

4. What difference do you see between you and other interns from other colleges (also employees)?
Although there’s no other interns from different colleges, there were new joinees and we knew the terminologies better than them. We knew the concepts clearer. And we knew the interface of YUMI BARC.

5. What did you feel when you entered DSC and now?
When I entered DSC, I was under-confident and also had a doubt about what I am doing! But today, I know what I am doing and what I want to do in my life. I have got enough time and chance and opportunity to decide where do I fit in and what I am good at. And I am happy about the fact that DSC let me explore and gave me a chance to do what I wished for.

6. Where do you see yourself 20 years from now?
I’m not sure what I will be doing 20 years down the line, but I know for the fact that I will be a master in whatever I will be doing and I will be proud of it.
